You can now apply for a job via SMS!
We are launching a quick and easy way to apply for Anglo American vacancies using an SMS. All you need to do is register once on our e-recruitment database by clicking on this link.
Please note that this functionality is only available in South Africa.
How do I register?
If you have applied for a position using our online facility previously, you have already been placed on our register. As soon as you are registered with us, you will be able to send your application for job opportunities by sending just one SMS.
To check if you are registered, SMS the letters ACT to 35641. You will receive an SMS response telling you if you are already registered. If not, you can follow the process below:
- Go to www.angloamerican.co.za and select “Careers”, go to “Working for us”, select “Current Vacancies”.
- Type in “699085”in the “Keyword” field.
- Select “Search” then “SMS Registration Campaign” and then “Apply”.
- Complete the Online Registration Form.
This SMS is free of charge. An SMS confirming that you have been successfully registered will be sent to you as soon as your registration has been processed.
Once registered, when a future job opportunity arises for which you wish to apply, you only need to SMS the job reference number to 35641. Your application will be submitted and you will receive confirmation via SMS.
Please note that you will be charged R3.00 per SMS by your service provider for each SMS that you send when using the SMS job registration and application facility. Don’t forget that should you wish to, you can still apply online in the usual way, at no cost, by going to: www.angloamerican.co.za.
Please ensure that the position you want to apply for is being sourced via the sms functionality. The advertisement will confirm whether you can apply for the position via SMS.
Remember that it is your responsibility to ensure that your details are updated and correct. This can only be done on the Anglo American website and not via SMS.
You can also register for Job Alerts which will let you know by email of any vacancies advertised for the discipline you selected during the job alert registration process.
